Save the Children

Andreea Hurezeanu

Strategic Partnership Coordinator
The biggest challenge was to ensure access to the course for all those who enrolled. The solution also came from Ascendia, who provided us with the CoffeeLMS platform.

"Save the Children has been running the "Net Hour" programme in Romania since 2008, during which time more than 558,000 students have been directly involved in online safety awareness activities and more than 158,000 parents and teachers have been trained in online child protection. In 2020, when almost the whole world has moved online, the challenges have increased for both teachers and students. They needed an interactive learning experience that facilitated a better understanding and integration of digital content into teaching, while at the same time providing an overview of the opportunities and risks associated with the online environment.

This is the reason behind the creation of the course "Real teacher in a virtual school". With the help of publisher LIVRESQ, Ascendia developed a course highly calibrated to our needs and made it available to thousands of teachers via the Coffee LMS platform. Many of the more than 20,000 teachers who have enrolled in the course so far have appreciated the way the course has been designed, its interactivity and, in particular, the fact that they have had the freedom to go through it at their own pace and when they want.

Most of all we appreciate the flexibility and interactivity of LIVRESQ, the possibility to use a variety of resources, which keep the learner engaged until the end.

The biggest challenge we had was to ensure access to the course for all those enrolled. The solution also came from Ascendia, who provided the Coffee LMS platform. In this way we ensured that teachers were not constrained by a specific place or date, but only by having an internet connection. Furthermore, thanks to Coffee LMS, we had access to reports on users' progress, quiz scores, time spent in the course, and feedback.

We have run 3 sessions so far and are preparing for the 4th."
