“Safe Kids – In the Vehicle and on the Road” – Free Road Safety Courses
The Road Safety Coalition, in partnership with Ascendia and Save the Children Romania, is launching new interactive modules as part of the second edition of the “Children Safe – In the Vehicle and on the Road” campaign, a project implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education.

The module “The Role of Parents in Children’s Road Safety” is a natural response to the growing need for adults to take an active role in preventing risky behaviors. Designed in an interactive, online-accessible format, this new content provides parents with useful information, real-life examples, and practical recommendations tailored to everyday situations, thus contributing to a safer road ecosystem.

This launch marks the second stage of the campaign and highlights the importance of an integrated approach – one that addresses not only children but also the adults responsible for their education and supervision. In addition to a new module focused on safety when using mopeds and motorcycles, and the three already available modules for children (Grades 1–4, Grades 5–8, and the general vehicle safety module), the new content for parents completes the campaign’s vision: Road safety is a shared responsibility!

📌 All modules are available for free on the platform https://formare.elearning.ro until June 30, 2025.

In practice, children and teachers will have access to three interactive e-learning modules:

• Module 1 – Road Safety on the Way to School – for children in Grades 1–4

• Module 2 – Road Safety: Responsible Cycling – for children in Grades 5–8

• Module 3 – Safe Travel in Vehicles

Adults (teachers and parents) will additionally have access to two interactive modules:

• Module 4 – Safety on Mopeds and Motorcycles: How to Prevent Accidents and Protect Your Life

• Module 5 – The Role of Parents in Children’s Road Safety

All campaign partners are invited to promote the use of the educational modules and to encourage active participation from children, parents, and educators. The campaign will run from May 21 to June 30, with results to be publicly presented between July 8–10.

This initiative is part of a broader effort coordinated by the Road Safety Coalition to make road safety education a national priority, in line with the recommendations outlined in the White Paper on Road Safety – a strategic document proposing concrete measures to reduce serious traffic accidents in Romania.
