Ascendia S.A. was established in 2007, under the name of Ascendia Design S.R.L., with Mr. Cosmin Malureanu as sole shareholder, who has held and still holds the position of Sole Administrator and General Manager.
The company has had, since the beginning, the field of activity focused on the IT industry, namely software development, mainly educational software. From 2007 to 2012 the company's activity was mainly focused on providing outsourcing services, developing eLearning products for third party beneficiaries. The year 2012 stood out in the company's activity as the time when the company launched in the USA an interactive digital textbook on Apple technology, which was a great success and caused a change in the development direction for Ascendia.
Since that year, the company has focused on developing its own products and related services, leading to the design of new business lines. In this way, the collection of educational products in digital format under the name "EduTeca" for preschool children was born, as well as its own platform for managing the learning process - Learning Management System.
Since 2013, Ascendia started accessing funds through national and European funded projects, thus benefiting from access to several projects both as a beneficiary and as a partner, among which are the POS-CCE project, the POS-DRU project, but also two research projects in the field of computer education.
Also during 2013, one of the educational products for children won "The European Award for Best Content for Kids" - Romania, awarded by the European Commission.
In 2014, Ascendia expanded the EduTeca Collection with digital textbooks for 1st and 2nd grade children, becoming a supplier of the Romanian Ministry of Education for digital Communication textbooks in Romanian, digital textbooks representing a clear direction in the company's future development possibilities.
In 2016, the company was transformed into a joint-stock company under the name Ascendia. Also this year, the company was admitted to trading through the SMT system of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, Premium category under the stock symbol ASC.
In 2017, in addition to the products already held in the portfolio, Ascendia started to develop the digital speech therapy platform www.timlogo.ro, the eLearning platform related to the medical field, as well as the digital educational content creation platform www.livresq.com.
In the second part of 2018 the speech therapy platform www.timlogo.ro was launched. Development continues on www.livresq.com, so that in 2019, the company will enriched and diversify its revenue sources from sales of access to new solutions.
In 2020, the company managed a rapid adaptation to the new conditions imposed by the COVID-19 restrictions and the transition to a predominantly teleworking regime, and among the most important events and actions carried out during this year were the signing of a partnership with Trend Consult and the launch of the first "off the shelf" eLearning course package, under the eJourneys brand, involving the construction and distribution of online courses aimed at concrete, specific changes in people's behavior.
The year 2021 was characterized for the company by the commercialization of its own products and services, coupled with investments for their development and expansion. The company's activity was supported by the e-learning division for companies and LIVRESQ, a tool for developing e-learning courses and more. All of its own products brought in significant revenues, up significantly from 2020.
The year 2021 also stood out for the company by signing, as a member of the winning consortium, the contract with the National Network Administration Agency for Education and Research Informatics, as the Contracting Authority, aimed at "product supply - digital platform with open educational resources (Edulib)". Within this project Ascendia will provide e-learning content development services and LIVRESQ licenses, the contract value for the company exceeds 3,500,000 euro.
